Observer Activity

The Observer Activity report gives administrators one row per observer so you can see, at a glance, who is doing observations and who is falling behind. Observers who have done none still appear — and they sort to the top, because they’re usually the ones worth reaching out to.

Role: for administrators who oversee observers. District admins see every observer in the account; building admins see the observers in their own organizations.

Opening the report

Go to weCLIMB → Observation Reports → Observer Activity.

You can also reach it from the Observe Dashboard: the Observers who recorded nothing count opens this report already filtered to those observers.

What each column means

• This week — observations the observer completed in the most recent week of the period.
• Total — all observations the observer completed in the selected period.
• Per active week — the total spread across the weeks school was actually in session. Break weeks are left out of this math (see below), so no one is penalized for a week the whole district was out. A week still in progress counts only for the days that have happened, so the figure doesn’t dip every Monday and recover by Friday.
• Trend — a weekly sparkline plus a read on whether the observer is picking up, steady, or trailing off. Break weeks are greyed and skipped, so a holiday dip never looks like a decline.

All submitted observations count — formal and informal alike. Never-submitted drafts don’t count.

Sorting and targets

The list ranks observers fewest-first, so the people who may need attention are always in view. Set a Target / week to flag anyone below it — each observer shows as Below target, Near target, or On target. Leave the target blank and the list still ranks fewest-first.

Filtering

• Period — a school year, a semester (fall or spring), or a custom range.
• Recorded nothing / Recorded at least one — narrow to observers who have not started, or to those who have. Leave it on All observers to see everyone.
• Schools — the whole district, or narrowed to specific buildings.

Selecting Recorded nothing is the fastest way to get the outreach list: it returns only the observers with a total of zero, which is the same population the Observers who recorded nothing count on the Observe Dashboard links to.

Drilling into an observer

Click any observer’s email to reach out, or “View observations” to open their full list.

Exporting

Export the view to CSV for external analysis or to share with leadership.

How holidays and breaks are handled

There’s no school calendar to configure — the report detects breaks from the activity itself. A week where the whole district goes quiet — total observation activity drops well below a normal week — is treated as a break and set aside, so it doesn’t distort anyone’s numbers:

• Per active week spreads an observer’s total only across the weeks school was actually in session, so no one is counted as “behind” for a week the whole district was out.
• In the trend sparkline, break weeks are greyed out and skipped, so a holiday dip never looks like a decline.

This only applies when the entire district is quiet. One observer going quiet while everyone else keeps working is not a break — that’s exactly the situation the report is meant to surface.
