Proctored Courses and Sessions
Participate in proctored learning sessions with supervised assessments.
Some courses require proctored sessions where a certified proctor supervises your learning and assessment activities. This ensures assessment integrity and meets certification requirements.
Understanding Proctored vs. Self-Paced Courses
Section titled “Understanding Proctored vs. Self-Paced Courses”Proctored Courses
Section titled “Proctored Courses”Proctored courses require supervised sessions and include:
- Live supervision by a certified proctor
- Scheduled sessions with specific start times
- Enrollment codes to join sessions
- Controlled assessment environment
- Identity verification during exams
Proctored courses are marked with a proctor icon in your course list.
Self-Paced Courses
Section titled “Self-Paced Courses”Self-paced courses allow you to:
- Start and stop at your convenience
- Take assessments independently
- Access content 24/7
- Progress at your own speed
Joining Proctored Sessions
Section titled “Joining Proctored Sessions”Finding Your Enrollment Code
Section titled “Finding Your Enrollment Code”Your administrator or proctor will provide an enrollment code when a proctored session is scheduled. This code is typically:
- 6-8 characters (letters and numbers)
- Case-sensitive
- Valid for specific sessions
Entering Your Enrollment Code
Section titled “Entering Your Enrollment Code”- Navigate to the proctored course in your learning dashboard
- Click Enter Enrollment Code when prompted
- Type the enrollment code exactly as provided
- Click Join Session
The system will validate your code and either:
- Allow you to join the session lobby
- Display an error if the code is invalid or expired
Session Lobby
Section titled “Session Lobby”Once you enter a valid enrollment code, you’ll be placed in the session lobby where you:
- Wait for the proctor to start the session
- See your status as “Waiting”
- Cannot access course content until the session begins
When the proctor starts the session:
- Your status changes to “In Session”
- You’re automatically redirected to the course content
- The proctored session begins
Working with Proctors During Sessions
Section titled “Working with Proctors During Sessions”Proctor Responsibilities
Section titled “Proctor Responsibilities”During proctored sessions, your proctor will:
- Monitor your progress through the course
- Verify your identity at the beginning
- Supervise assessments to ensure integrity
- Provide technical support if needed
- End the session when complete
Your Responsibilities
Section titled “Your Responsibilities”During proctored sessions, you should:
- Join sessions on time to avoid delays
- Have proper identification ready for verification
- Follow proctor instructions throughout the session
- Ask questions if you need clarification
- Stay focused on the learning content
Communication with Proctors
Section titled “Communication with Proctors”Proctors may communicate with you through:
- Verbal instructions in live sessions
- Chat messages in the session interface
- Screen sharing for technical assistance
- Email notifications for session updates
Assessment Supervision
Section titled “Assessment Supervision”Proctored Exams
Section titled “Proctored Exams”When taking assessments in proctored sessions:
- Wait for proctor authorization before starting
- Keep your screen visible to the proctor
- Don’t navigate away from the assessment
- Ask permission before taking breaks
- Submit when complete and notify the proctor
Identity Verification
Section titled “Identity Verification”Proctors may verify your identity by:
- Checking photo ID at session start
- Comparing to registration information
- Monitoring throughout the session
Assessment Security
Section titled “Assessment Security”During proctored assessments:
- No external resources unless specifically allowed
- No communication with others
- Screen recording may be active
- Browser lockdown prevents other applications
Technical Requirements
Section titled “Technical Requirements”System Requirements
Section titled “System Requirements”Ensure your computer meets these requirements:
Hardware:
- Webcam (if video monitoring required)
- Microphone for communication
- Stable internet connection
- Updated web browser
Software:
- Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
- JavaScript enabled
- Pop-up blockers disabled for the platform
- Latest browser version recommended
Network:
- Broadband internet connection
- Minimum 2 Mbps upload/download speed
- Stable connection without interruptions
- Firewall configured to allow platform access
Pre-Session Testing
Section titled “Pre-Session Testing”Before joining a proctored session:
- Test your browser compatibility
- Check internet speed and stability
- Verify camera and microphone function
- Close unnecessary applications
- Ensure quiet environment
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Section titled “Troubleshooting Common Issues”Cannot Join Session
Section titled “Cannot Join Session”If you can’t join a proctored session:
Invalid Enrollment Code:
- Double-check the code for typos
- Ensure caps lock and special characters are correct
- Verify the code hasn’t expired
- Contact your administrator for a new code
Session Not Started:
- Wait in the lobby for the proctor to begin
- Check session start time with your administrator
- Refresh the page if status doesn’t update
Technical Issues:
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
- Try a different browser
- Contact technical support
Connection Problems
Section titled “Connection Problems”If you experience connection issues during a session:
- Check internet connection stability
- Refresh the browser page
- Rejoin using your enrollment code
- Contact the proctor immediately
- Document any lost progress
Assessment Interruptions
Section titled “Assessment Interruptions”If your assessment is interrupted:
- Don’t panic - progress is usually saved
- Notify the proctor immediately
- Wait for instructions before proceeding
- Rejoin the session if disconnected
- Resume where you left off
Audio/Video Issues
Section titled “Audio/Video Issues”For camera or microphone problems:
- Check browser permissions for media access
- Verify hardware connections
- Test with other applications
- Restart your browser
- Contact the proctor for assistance
After the Session
Section titled “After the Session”Completion Status
Section titled “Completion Status”When you complete a proctored session:
- Final scores are recorded automatically
- Completion certificates are generated if applicable
- Progress is saved to your transcript
- Session end time is documented
Results Review
Section titled “Results Review”After completing proctored assessments:
- Check your results in the course dashboard
- Review feedback from assessments
- Download certificates if earned
- Contact support with any questions about scores
Your proctored session results are permanent and cannot be retaken without administrator approval.

- Share completion status with supervisors if required
